I love posters only slightly more than I love a good drop cap. One of my favorite things to create during my time as a Graphic Designer was an event poster and I would gloriously swing for the fences with them. The 24″ x 36″ format has a special place in my heart.
The possibilities for a poster are endless and 24×36 is such a perfectly large, but still maintainable format for any situation. My 2nd official graphic design brought me into the orbit of a wide format printer that had a multitude of papers we could load it with. Oh the glossy stock and I became such very good friends and the walls of the building became my gallery…lol…
This was my exploration and homage to the format. None have, as of yet been printed, but they are available in my store (hint hint).
I had been exploring doing an image a day and with this format pushing myself to imagine what I could do with a poster. Abstract art, illustration, book cover promos…just so much fun to play with as well as exploring new techniques to create with.
